The files contain details of all expenditure during each month with a value of £500 or more (excluding VAT). All personal details have been removed and any payments of a personal nature will not be included. Examples of excluded payments are:
- Salary Payments to Staff (except some senior staff whose information will be published separately)
- Pension and National Insurance contributions
- Severance Payments
- Payments to Individuals from Legal processes
- Competition prizes
- Settlements made with companies as an arbitration which is conditional on confidentiality
- Transactions relating to the financing or underwriting of debt
- Provisions or promises to pay not yet realised
Making sense of the information
The data is split into eight columns, containing
| Column heading | What it means |
| Service area categorisation | As all the things we do relate to waste disposal this column will always say “Waste Disposal” |
| Service division categorisation | This will tell you which area of work it relates to e.g. Transfer station Victoria Road shows the payment relates to that site |
| Expense type | This gives more detail about the reason for the payment e.g. vehicle maintenance |
| Payment date | When we paid the organisation |
| Transaction number | The unique reference number for the expenditure |
| Amount | The amount we paid |
| Type | This tells you whether it was a capital or revenue payment |
| Supplier name | The name of the organisation we paid |
